1X PBST for Western Blotting
Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) is an isotonic solution that is used in many biological research applications. To make 1 L of 1X phosphate-buffered saline with Tween® detergent (PBST), add 100 mL of 10X PBS and 1 mL of Tween® detergent to 900 mL of water. This PBST recipe contains 137 mM NaCl, 2.7 mM KCl, 10 mM Na2HPO4, and 1.8 mM KH2PO4.
This PBST recipe calculator enables the accurate preparation of wash buffer for any milliliter volume. Input your desired volume, click the CALCULATE button, and the table will populate with the amounts of each component needed to make this common buffer used for Western blotting and other immunoassays.
