Laboratory Centrifugation

Centrifuges and microcentrifuges are used in microbiology, tissue culture, molecular biology, PCR, genomics, clinical applications, drug discovery, and proteomics. They should be selected based on spin speed and g-force, application, sample size, throughput, and footprint. There are models to suit low-throughput individual benchtop needs up to high volume, high speed, refrigerated models. We offer a selection of centrifuges, rotors, buckets, and adapters to fit your processing needs.

Eppendorf® centrifuges

The Eppendorf® portfolio offers a comprehensive line of centrifuges including mini-centrifuges, microcentrifuges, compact centrifuges, and high capacity benchtop centrifuges with and without refrigeration capabilities to fulfill your daily laboratory requirements. After introducing their very first centrifuge in 1964, the Eppendorf® brand now has many centrifuge model options, such as:

  • Centrifuge 5425 / 5425 R
  • MiniSpin®, MiniSpin® plus
  • Centrifuge 5418 R
  • Centrifuge 5430 / 5430 R
  • Centrifuge 5702 / 5702 R / 5702 RH
  • Centrifuge 5810 / 5810 R
  • Centrifuge 5420
  • Centrifuge 5427
  • Centrifuge 5910 R
  • Centrifuge 5920 R

Whether you only need to spin a few tubes, or your work demands extra versatility for handling larger tube volumes or plates, the Eppendorf® portfolio has the centrifuge solution for you.

BENCHMARK SCIENTIFIC MINI-CENTRIFUGES

The MyFuge™ Mini centrifuge is a personal centrifuge that virtually fits in the palm of your hand. Ideal for quick spin downs of microtubes and PCR tubes, the MyFuge™ Mini centrifuge is extremely easy to use. Simply close the lid and the rotor instantly reaches 6,000 rpm.

If your samples are in tube strips, then the StripSpin™ 12 Mini Centrifuge from Benchmark could save you time. It is the only mini centrifuge designed for centrifugation of 12 position PCR strips. With a fixed speed that produces 2,000 x g, this centrifuge is perfect for quick spin downs.

If you are using multiwell plates the Benchmark Scientific C2000 PlateFuge™ microcentrifuge is the first "mini" sized centrifuge with a swing-out rotor for microplates. Centrifuging plates before PCR ensures all reactants are in the bottom of the wells for proper concentrations and improved yields. Despite its remarkably small footprint (9x10 inches), the PlateFuge™ microcentrifuge includes a uniquely designed, swing-out rotor capable of securing 2 microplates. The easily accessible rotor chamber of the C2000 includes two plate carriers that rest at a 75° angle. This allows plates to be inserted confidently without sealing tapes or caps.

Corning LSE™ Centrifuges

  • The Corning LSE™ Mini Microcentrifuge is a personal bench top instrument that operates at a fixed speed of 6,000 rpm (2,000 x g) and was designed for quick spin downs of micro-samples. It offers a quick release rotor system that eliminates the need for tools to exchange rotors with an ergonomic design for comfortable handling.
  • The Corning LSE™ high speed microcentrifuge features an easy-to-use, digital control interface and high-speed performance for quick nucleic acid and protein separations. Two control knobs are used to precisely set rotor speed and run time, and parameters are shown on the easy-to-read LED displays. This microcentrifuge incorporates a brushless drive and unique air cooling system to both reduce noise and minimize sample heating even during prolonged runs at maximum speed, allowing fast acceleration to a maximum speed 13,300 rpm/16,300 x g.
  • The Corning LSE™ compact centrifuge is a space saving centrifuge ideal for use in life science and industrial research labs. Four angle rotors are available for this centrifuge, including an innovative combination rotor designed by Corning to allow for greater versatility. This multi-purpose rotor can accommodate various tube sizes including a 5 mL microcentrifuge tube as well as round and conical bottom 15 mL and 50 mL centrifuge tubes.

Labnet Centrifuges

  • Labnet Mini Microcentrifuges operate at a fixed speed of 6,000 rpm (x g) and were designed for quick spin downs of microsamples. Operation is made simpler and more convenient with the design of a quick-release rotor system and electronic brake. Once samples are loaded and the lid is closed, the rotor rapidly accelerates to 6,000 rpm. This speed range is ideal for bringing small droplets to the bottom of the tubes for micro-filtrations or as basic separations.
  • The Labnet Slide Spinner is designed for drying microarray slides before scanning. It dries two slides in as little as 10 seconds for quality imaging and screening results. The slides are placed into cassettes that catch all liquid without splashing. Cassettes are reusable.
  • Labnet’s Prism™ Mini Centrifuge is compact and economical, allowing each workstation to be equipped with a “personal” centrifuge. The Prism™ Mini can be used for a wide range of molecular biology separations and quick spins. The centrifuge was designed to be extremely compact with an exceptionally small footprint.
  • Labnet’s MPS 1000 Mini Plate Spinner is the first centrifuge designed specifically for quick and easy centrifugation of samples in PCR plates or microplates.
  • The Spectrafuge™ 16M is the perfect high-speed compact microcentrifuge. Producing a maximum of 16,000 x g, it is the ideal unit for DNA applications.
