Application

Sulfur dioxide (SO2) can be used:
  • In the palladium catalyzed aminosulfonylation reaction.[1]
  • To prepare 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane [DABCO. (SO2)2] or DABSO, which is used as a reagent to synthesize N-aminosulfonamides via aminosulfonylation process using palladium catalyst.[1][2]
  • To synthesize polysulfobetaine (PSB/SO2) copolymer.[3]
