General description
Application
- As a growth supplement in proximal tubule and glomerular explant cell culture
- In three-dimensional scaffold preparation
- To study the effect of brivanib on growth factor signaling pathways
- In transwell migration assay
Biochem/physiol Actions
PDGF stimulates fibroblast proliferation and extracellular matrix production in order to facilitate tissue repair. PDGF-BB isomer is found to be critical in angiogenesis and is highly expressed in tumor, mediating oncogenic pericyte recruitment. PDGF-BB is an important regulator of bone homeostasis, repair and regeneration.
