Nectin-3, also known as Poliovirus receptor-related protein 3 (PVRL3) and PRR3, is thought to work with cadherin to form cell-cell adherens junctions. It is a transmembrane protein that is commonly found in the testis and in placental tissue. Nectin-3 colocalizes with CD155, the cognate receptor for poliovirus, to cell-cell junctions. Nectin-3′s involvement in down-regulation PVR from the cell surface leads to a reduction in cell motility and proliferation.
