Non-ionic detergent and emulsifier (cloud point: 22°C; CMC: 350 µM; HLB: 12.4).

Application

  • Determination of nine aromatic amines in water by cloud point extraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.: This study utilized Triton X-114 for cloud point extraction to enhance the detection sensitivity of aromatic amines in water samples. The detergent played a crucial role in the efficient extraction and subsequent analysis of these compounds, highlighting its utility in environmental monitoring and analytical chemistry (Yang et al., 2024).

  • An innovative lab-scale production for a novel therapeutic DNA vaccine candidate against rheumatoid arthritis.: Triton X-114 was employed in the purification steps to ensure the integrity and activity of the vaccine components. This detergent′s role in protein solubilization and membrane protein isolation was pivotal in the development of the therapeutic candidate, demonstrating its importance in biotechnological applications (Long et al., 2024).

  • Lipoprotein signal peptidase-deficient Streptococcus pneumoniae exhibits impaired Toll-like receptor 2-stimulatory activity.: The study used Triton X-114 for the extraction and analysis of membrane proteins, which facilitated the investigation of bacterial interactions with host immune receptors. This application underscores the detergent′s effectiveness in microbial research and immunology (Domon et al., 2024).

  • Improvement in the Chromium(VI)-Diphenylcarbazide Determination Using Cloud Point Microextraction; Speciation of Chromium at Low Levels in Water Samples.: Triton X-114 was used for cloud point extraction to improve the sensitivity and accuracy of chromium speciation in water samples. This method highlights the detergent′s role in environmental analytical chemistry, enhancing the detection of trace metal species (Mouco-Novegil et al., 2023).

Primary cilia are microtubule-based organelles, which protrude from the plasma membrane and receive a wide range of extracellular signals. Various cilia use G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) for the detection of these signals. For instance, vertebrate rod photoreceptors use their cilia
