General description

Native IgE from human myeloma plasma.
Native IgE from human myeloma plasma. Human immunoglobulin E (IgE) purified from the plasma of a myeloma donor. The isotype of the light chain (kappa or lambda) will vary from batch to batch depending on the starting material.

Application

Immunoassay standard

Physical form

In 150 mM NaCl, 15 mM potassium phosphate buffer, pH 7.4.

Preparation Note

Following initial thaw, aliquot and freeze (-20°C).
Prepared from plasma that was shown by certified tests to be nonreactive for HBsAg and for antibodies to HCV, HBc, HIV-1 and HIV-2.

Analysis Note

Single arc by immunoelectrophoresis against antiserum to whole human serum and human IgE

Other Notes

Note: the heavy chain of myeloma IgE may appear as either a single or double band on gel electrophoresis. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the proper working dilution.

Questions

1–2 of 2 Questions
  1. What is the purity of this product? do you have any publications using this product as a standard?

    1 answer
    1. The purity of this material is not determined on a lot-to-lot basis. However, historical data indicates a purity of approximately 95% by IEP. This product has not been tested for use as a standard. Suitability would have to be determined by the end user.

  2. YA COMBIEN DE VOLUME

    1 answer
    1. The concentration of this product is lot-specific. The exact volume provided for 100 µg will depend on the concentration of the specific lot, which is provided on the Certificate of Analysis (CofA) for the lot one receives. For example, at 1 mg/mL, 100 µg would be supplied in about 0.1 mL. One should refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the exact lot-specific concentration and volume.
