General description

Recombinant, rat insulin degrading enzyme fused to a His•Tag sequence and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells. A metalloprotease that degrades insulin and a variety of other peptides including amyloid peptides.
Recombinant, rat insulin degrading enzyme fused to a His•Tag sequence and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells. Insulin degrading enzyme (Insulysin) is a metalloprotease that degrades insulin and a variety of other peptides, including glucagon, insulin-like growth factors I and II, atrial natriuretic peptide, TGF-α, and amyloid peptides. Reported to be inversely correlated with brain Aβ peptide levels in insulysin-deficient mice compared to wild-type mice.
