The gene DNAJC24 (DnaJ heat shock protein family (Hsp40) member C24) is mapped to human chromosome 11p13. The gene encodes a type 3 protein. The protein has a conserved J-domain and a CSL-domain.

DNAJC24 (DnaJ heat shock protein family (Hsp40) member C24) might work as a cochaperone. It participates in diphthamide biosynthesis and optimal development. It is also involved in ATPase activity of HSP70 (heat shock protein 70) and exhibits iron-binding property. Absence of DNAJC24 causes embryonic lethality in mice. In acute lymphoblastic leukemia, methylation of DNAJC24 promoter is responsible for resistance against HA22, a recombinant immunotoxin.
