General description

Petroleum ether is generally a mixture of low boiling aliphatic hydrocarbons mainly hexane and pentane. It is generally used as a laboratory solvent and also as an extraction solvent.

Application

Iron(II) acetate may be used as an iron precursor for the synthesis of phase-pure iron carbide nanoparticles with potential applications in the field of biomedicine and catalysis due to its high magnetic saturation and chemical stability.
