Gene Information

human ... FKBP4(2288)

General description

FKBP4, also known as Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase FKBP4 (PPIase FKBP4), or 51 kDa FK506-binding protein (FKBP51), 52 kDa FK506-binding protein (FKBP-52), or 59 kDa immunophilin (p59), or FK506-binding protein 4 (FKBP-4) or FKBP59 , or HSP-binding immunophilin (HBI), or Immunophilin FKBP52 Rotamase, and encoded by the gene FKBP4/FKBP62 is a chaperon type protein that is involved in protein folding and trafficking and the immunoregulation of cellular responses. FKBP4 is a member of the immunophilin family of proteins. FKBP4 forms a component of unligated steroid receptors complexes and helps in the cycling of the receptors between the cytoplasm and nuclear compartments. FKBP4 also plays a role in regulating neuronal growth cones via the regulations of TRPC1 channels, and FKBP4 modules microtubule dynamics by inhibiting MAPT/TAU in microtubule assembly. Finally, FKBP4 also influences the regulation and modulation oxidative stress in mitochondria. FKBP4 will localize to the cytoplasm, mitochondria or nucleus depending upon cellular situation and is widely expressed.

Immunogen

Epitope: C-terminus
GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to the C-terminus of human FKBP4.

Application

Anti-FKBP4 Antibody, clone 2H9.1 is an antibody against FKBP4 for use in western blotting & IHC (Paraffin).
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:500 dilution from a representative lot detected FKBP4 in human testis and human cerebellum tissue.
