General description

The Human β-NGF (β-nerve growth factor) ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human β-NGF in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.

Immunogen

Recombinant Human BNGF

Application

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)
Human β-NGF (nerve growth factor) ELISA (Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay) Kit has been used for the quantification of nerve growth factor in acellularized meningeal scaffolds (AMS) and recovered meningeal tissues (referred as CMS) , in all collected medium culture wastes. It has also been used for the quantification of nerve growth factor in lysate of decellularized meningeal scaffolds (DMS).

Biochem/physiol Actions

NGFβ (nerve growth factor β ) is a potent neurotrophic factor that plays a vital role in development and maintenance of nervous systems and is essential for the differentiation and survival of neurons. It also mediates angiogenesis and facilitates progression and development of various cancer including, oral, breast and prostate cancers. Elevated expression of NGFβ contributes to progression of human cholangiocarcinoma. It has potential as marker for the diagnosis of interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome (IC/PBS) and overactive bladder (OAB) and might also aid in determining the therapy for the same. It might alter placental function, as NGF signaling in placenta is influenced by antenatal depression and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) treatment.
