Absorbents & Adsorbents

Adsorbents and absorbents are essential for managing substances in liquids and gases. Adsorbents, like activated carbon used in air and water purification, attract and hold molecules on their surface, while absorbents, such as soda lime, draw substances into their internal structure to soak up gases or liquids. Both types are crucial in various processes. They ensure purity and integrity of experimental outcomes, purify substances, remove impurities, and preserve solvent and reagent quality, ultimately enhancing the accuracy and reliability of analytical results.

Section Overview

Activated Carbon Adsorbent

Activated charcoal, as an adsorbent, is widely used for the adsorption, decolorization, and purification of gases and liquids, as well as a catalyst carrier, owing to its large internal surface area. It is suitable for various applications, with powdered activated carbon (PAC) offering easier loading, and granulated activated carbon (GAC) being well-suited for low-resistance processes involving gases. This versatile substance, featuring a porous, sponge-like structure with excellent adsorption capacity, is essential in the chemical, food and beverage, and environmental protection industries. Sourced from natural materials like pine wood or mineral coal, activated charcoal is a sustainable choice for diverse applications.

Soda lime CO2 Absorber:

Soda lime effectively absorbs CO2 from air and gases, offering a large internal absorption surface area and a capacity of at least 25%. It is suitable for both small and large absorption systems in laboratories and technical facilities. Additionally, some products contain soda lime with indicator that changes color during CO2 absorption, ensuring efficient monitoring without releasing CO2 back into the environment.

Water Absorption tubes:

Water absorbing tubes are employed to keep reagents or solvents dry, particularly during processes like Karl Fischer titration or when working with solvents from withdrawal systems. These tubes also feature an indicator in the filling to display the degree of depletion.
