Application

El sulfato de gentamicina es un antibiótico de amplio espectro utilizado como agente de selección (gen de resistencia a la gentamicina) en biología molecular y en cultivo celular. Este producto está formulado para que contenga 50 mg/ml de gentamicina en agua desionizada y se recomienda su uso en cultivo de células eucariotas a un volumen de 1 ml por litro.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Modo de acción: La gentamicina inhibe la síntesis de proteínas uniéndose a la subunidad 30S del ribosoma.

Espectro antimicrobiano: Incluye bacterias gramnegativas y grampositivas, entre ellas cepas resistentes a la tetraciclina, el cloranfenicol, la canamicina y la colistina, en particular cepas de pseudomonas, Proteus, Staphylococcus y Streptococcus.

Components

La gentamicina es un aminoglucósido complejo producido por fermentación de Micromonospora purpurea o M. echinospora. Se utiliza como la sal sulfato. Hay tres componentes, cada uno de los cuales consiste en cinco nitrógenos básicos y requieren cinco equivalentes de ácido sulfúrico por mol de la base gentamicina.

Caution

El producto es estable a 37° durante 5 días y se conserva entre 2 y 8°C.
