Gene Information

human ... CDX2(1045)

General description

CDX-2 is a caudal-related homeobox transcription factor that plays a role in the development and maintenance of intestinal mucosa. This protein is expressed in the normal and neoplastic gastrointestinal epithelium, including colorectal adenocarcinoma. It is useful for identifying the gastrointestinal origin of benign and malignant lesions.
