General description

PSD95 (postsynaptic density 95) represent a class of anchoring proteins which serve to localize various neuronal ion channels to post-synaptic densities. PSD95 and related proteins contain PDZ domains, which interact with NMDA receptors and voltage-gated K+ channels via a ET/SXV motif in the cytoplasmic carboxyl terminus of the receptor channels.

Immunogen

Recombinant protein corresponding to human PSD95.

Application

Detect PSD95 using this Anti-PSD95 Antibody, clone K28/43 validated for use in IH, WB & IC.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: 1:500 dilution from a previous lot detected PSD95 in rat cortex tissue.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A previous lot was used by an independent laboratory in IC. (Maeda, T., et al. (2005). Invest. Ophthalmol. Vis. Sci. 46(11):4320-4327.)

When screening a brain cDNA library, we found that the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor subunit NR3A binds to microtubule-associated protein (MAP) 1S/chromosome 19 open reading frame 5 (C19ORF5). The interaction was confirmed in vitro and in vivo, and binding of MAP1S was

Mutations in the genes encoding presenilins (PS1 and PS2) account for the majority of cases of early-onset Alzheimer's disease. PS1 and PS2 form the catalytic center of gamma-secretase, an enzyme responsible for intramembraneous proteolysis of several type I transmembrane proteins.
