General description

Human complement 5a (C5a) is generated during complement activation from the α-chain of complement C5. It binds to a signaling G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR), inducing neutrophil chemotaxis and endothelial cell activation. C5a also triggers an oxidative burst in macrophages and neutrophils and induces release of histamine in basophils and mast cells.
The antibody pair provided in this kit recognizes human Complement Component C5a.

Blood-brain barrier (BBB) disturbance is a crucial occurrence in many neurological diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Our previous studies showed that experimental lupus serum altered the integrity of the mouse brain endothelial layer, an important constituent of the BBB.

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
