General description

Cobalt(II)chloride hexahydrate is one of the widely used material in the laboratory and it is also known as cobaltous chloride hexahydrate. It is deliquescent and dissolves readily in water and alcohol.
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which belongs to one of the four categories of greener alternatives. This product has been enhanced for energy efficency. Click here for more information.

Application

Cobalt (II)chloride hexahydrate is widely used for the synthesis of Cobalt nanoparticles , for genotoxicity and morphological transformation of mouse fibroblasts, metal complex with phenyl(carboxymethyl) phosphinic acid which creates an infinite 2D architecture , and Cobalt(II) Triazolate Magnet which is a hybrid molecule which has applications in catalysis, opticals, membranes, and sorption. Cobalt-phosphate (Co-Pi) was synthesised as an efficient molecular catalyst for O2 production via visible light-driven water oxidation using Cobalt(II)chloride hexahydrate. Additionally, nanorod-assembled Co3O4 hexapods were synthesised using Cobalt (II)chloride hexahydrate via a simple hydrothermal method followed by thermal treatment on copper foil. These Co3O4 hexapods on copper foil demonstrated a very high reversible capacity when used as an anode for lithium-ion batteries.
