Lab Beakers

Pyrex® graduated 250 mL glass beaker

Beakers are common laboratory glassware, featuring a flat bottom and an open top. They are mostly used in chemical, biological, clinical, and industrial laboratories for mixing, stirring, and holding solutions as well as other samples.

Glass Beakers

Glass is the most widely used material for laboratory beakers. Glass beakers are typically made from borosilicate glass, which gives them good thermal shock resistance, enabling them to withstand much higher temperatures compared to their plastic counterparts. These transparent cylindrical containers allow researchers to easily observe the contents, making them ideal for monitoring reactions and changes during experiments. They are available in various shapes and sizes: tall and low, with or without spout, with or without scale.

Duran® Beakers

These autoclavable Duran® beakers, are made of borosilicate 3.3 glass or Type 1/ neutral glass as standard or heavy-wall versions.

Pyrex® Beakers

Pyrex® Beakers are manufactured to provide a balance between thermal shock resistance and mechanical strength. The beakers are graduated and made of Type 1, Class A low expansion borosilicate glass.

Brand® Glass Beakers

These beakers are available in a low or tall form, made of borosilicate 3.3 DIN EN ISO 3819 glass, and are provided with graduations and a spout.

Plastic Beakers

Plastic beakers are made from various types of plastic materials such as polystyrene, polypropylene, polymethyl pentene, polymethylpentene (PMP), perfluoroalkoxy alkanes (PFA), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and more. Their lightweight and easy-to-handle nature makes them suitable for a variety of laboratory tasks. They can also hold hot liquids but should not be used on open flames or with strong acids, or solvents.

Brand® Beakers

Brand® Beakers, made of polypropylene, ETFE, or PFA, are available as graduated beakers with sprouts and/or handles with graduations.

Corning® Polypropylene Beakers

The beakers are sterile and are provided with a lid.

Azlon Beakers

Azlon beakers, made of polymethylpentene or polypropylene, are graduated beakers available as low form, straight-sided, or tapered beakers.

Nalgene® Beakers

Naglene® beakers are made of PFA, translucent polypropylene, or transparent polymethylpentene.

Jacketed Beakers

Jacketed beakers (also known as temp-controlled beakers), made of borosilicate glass and equipped with an integral jacket, are designed to maintain samples at a constant temperature by circulating a cooling or heating liquid through the jacket. They are used in various laboratory applications, particularly in chemical and biological reactions such as enzyme digestions, titrations, and synthetic organic reactions.

Disposable Beakers

Disposable beakers are known for their resistance to strong acids and bases, organic solvents, and commonly used laboratory reagents. They are made of polypropylene, molded with graduations and are autoclavable.
