General description

Singlepath® Listeria monocytogenes is a rapid diagnostic test, designed to detect Listeria monocytogenes bacteria in various food samples. The Singlepath® Listeria monocytogenes is an immunochromatographic rapid test based on gold-labeled antibodies to detect the presence of a specific antigen, in this case, the L. monocytogenes bacteria. This lateral flow test is based on the immune flow principle and is a convenient and simple-to-use, one-step device. The test includes a nitrocellulose membrane strip that is coated with antibodies specific to L. monocytogenes antigens. When the sample is applied to the test strip, any L. monocytogenes antigens present will bind to the antibodies on the strip, resulting in the development of a visible test line. The test takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and the results are interpreted based on the presence or absence of the test line. The lower detection limit can be considered as 5x106 bacteria/ml or one colony on an agar plate, depending on the serotype. No additional equipment expenditure is needed.

Application

Singlepath® Listeria monocytogenes can be used in industrial microbiology, to test a wide range of foods for Listeria monocytogenes using Listeria selective agars (e.g. PALCAM, Oxford, Chromoplate Listeria, Chromocult Listeria, etc.). This test can also be used for confirmation of suspect Listeria monocytogenes colonies on these agars.

Features and Benefits
