DCzTrz can be used in studies on organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). It can be used as an electron-transport layer, facilitating the efficient injection and transport of negative charges (electrons) from the cathode to the emissive layer. DCzTrz has been studied for its potential use as an electron-transport material to assist in the extraction and collection of negative charges generated in the active layer in organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices.
