Quail Japanese fibrosarcoma
Cell Line Description
Derived from methylcholanthrene-induced fibrosarcoma of Japanese quail. The cells are susceptible to several viruses including sub group A avian sarcoma, avian encephalomyelitis, Marek′s disease herpes virus and rabies virus.

Ham′s F10 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Tryptose Phosphate Broth + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:4 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C; subculture at about 75% confluency; cells can be dislodged by tapping flask against the palm of hand; use of 0.5% polyvinylpyrrol
