Application

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is a hexadentate ligand and chelating agent with the ability to sequester divalent cations such as calcium and cesium. EDTA is used in a wide range of applications where the sequestration of divalent cations is required or useful. EDTA is used in the study of artificial restriction DNA cutters.
