General description

Recombinant, mouse γ-interferon (γ-IFN) expressed in E. coli as a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide containing 134 amino acids. Purified by chromatographic methods. IFN-γ is a type II cytokine produced by activated T cells and natural killer cells. It plays a significant role immunoregulation and has been implicated in the induction of the expression of class II histocompatibility molecules in cells that do not normally express them, resulting in autoimmune disease.

Lyophilized from 0.5X PBS, pH 7.2.

Reconstitution

Following reconstitution, refrigerate (4°C) for short-term storage or aliquot and freeze (-20°C) for long-term storage. Stock solutions are stable for 2-7 days at 4°C or for up to 4 months at -20°C. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles of solutions.
Reconstitute with sterile water to ≥100 µg/ml, containing 0.1% HSA or BSA. Further dilute with aqueous buffers just prior to use.

STAT2 is the quintessential transcription factor for type 1 interferons (IFNs), where it functions as a heterodimer with STAT1. However, the human and murine STAT2-deficient phenotypes suggest important additional and currently unidentified type 1 IFN-independent activities. Here, we show that
