Application

Selective medium for the detection of coliform bacteria and for early detection of E. coli in water analysis. For the detection of fecal contamination in foods according to Mossel(1962).

Preparation Note

Dissolve 33.1 g in 1 litre distilled water and sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. Cool to 45°C and add 3 ml sterile 1% TTC solution (Cat. No. 17779).Mix till uniform then pour plates.

Other Notes

Detection of fecal contamination of foods; A useful selective bactericidal property of Tergitol-7
