Application
N-Acetyl-D-galactosamine is an agarose used in affinity chromatography, protein chromatography and in carbohydrate matrices. N-Acetyl-D-galactosamine has been used to study periodontal disease and to facilitate the design of potent small-molecule ice recrystallization inhibitors. N-Acetyl-D-galactosamine has also been used to demonstrate a molecular shuttle between extracellular and cytoplasmic space allows for monitoring of GAG biosynthesis.

Cell surface proteoglycans play vital functional roles in various biological processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, adhesion, inflammation, immune response, sustentation of cartilage tissue and intensity of tissues. We show here that serglycin-like synthetic glycopeptides function efficiently as a molecular

The β-d-galactosyl-(1,3)-α-N-acetyl-d-galactosamine disaccharide is present in antifreeze glycoproteins (AFGPs). Analogs of this disaccharide including the β-linked (1,3)-, (1,4)-, and (1,6)-galactosyl-N-acetyl galactosamine and the β-(1,3)-galactosyl-galactoside were synthesized and evaluated for ice recrystallization inhibition (IRI) activity. The results from this study demonstrate

Hyperacute organ xenograft rejection can be prevented by removing anti-pig antibodies by extracorporeal absorption prior to transplantation. A novel recombinant absorber of anti-pig antibodies was developed by fusing the cDNA encoding the extracellular part of a mucin-type protein, P-selectin glycoprotein
