The new Schiff bases bearing anthracene unit were synthesized from 2-aminoanthracene and various aldehydes such as: benzaldehyde, 4-(diphenylamino)benzaldehyde, 9-phenanthrenecarboxaldehyde, 9-anthracenecarboxaldehyde, and biphenyl-4-carboxaldehyde, 2-naphthaldehyde.
