General description

Sigma1R, or Sigma non-opioid intracellular receptor 1, is part of the ERG2 family that forms a ternary complex with ANK2 and ITPR3. Sigma1R is involved in lipid transport from the endoplasmic reticulum, BDNF and EGF signaling, potassium ion channel regulation and other cell functions including apoptosis, survival and proliferation. It was initially discovered through its binding to various psychoactive drugs, and has been studied in memory, learning and mood alteration processes. Sigma1R is often found in the nuclear membrane, synapses and endoplasmic reticulum of cells within liver, brain, kidney and thymus tissues.

Immunogen

Linear peptide corresponding to human Sigma IR.
