Trinexapac-ethyl (TE) is a plant growth regulator belonging to the cyclohexanones group commonly used in cereal production systems. It retards plant growth by inhibiting gibberellin (GA) biosynthesis, thereby reducing the risk of stem lodging.
As per Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009, repealing the directive 91/414/EEC, trinexapac (aka cimetacarb ethyl) is approved for use in the European Union. A maximum residue limit (MRL) of 0.01 mg/kg is applicable for the presence of trinexapac (sum of trinexapac (acid) and its salts, expressed as trinexapac) in fresh/frozen fruits, and tree nuts, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/1016.
Application
The trinexapac-ethyl CRM may also find the following uses:
- To study the effect of growth regulator trinexapac-ethyl on oats yield in Brazil
- Determine the effects of TE dose and application timings on lodging, canopy architecture, grain yield, and quality of winter cereals
- To study the seed yield responses of annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) to trinexapac-ethyl
- To determine the effects of TE application on Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) responses to salinity stress by greenhouse sand culture experiment
- To study the effects of trinexapac-ethyl on diploid red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) seed production in diverse environments
- To evaluate the effect of trinexapac-ethyl at two application times, before planting or after planting, in Eucalyptus urophylla under conditions of nutritional deficiency
