Coagulase Test (Slide) can be used for the detection of coagulase-negative or positive organisms (Staphylococcus aureus).

Principle

Coagulase Test is carried out to differentiate potentially pathogenic Staphylococcus species from other Gram positive, catalase-positive cocci by the detection of coagulase. It is an important indicator for the pathogenicity of Staphylococcus strains.
