General description

Cadaverine is a biogenic amine. Mechanism of cadaverine fermentation by Corynebacterium glutamicum was reported.
Cadaverine, a diamine, has been reported as a cadaveric volatile organic compound. Its effect on the electroantennographic (EAG) and behavioral responses of silphine species, Thanatophilus sinuatus Fabricius has been investigated.

Application

Cadaverine has been used as diamine in the synthesis of diamine-inorganic anion [Cl-, SO42-, HPO42-, P2O74- and Fe(CN)64-] complexes.

We developed a new simple enzymatic assay method for measuring urinary polyamines (total amount of putrescine, spermidine, and cadaverine), using an acylpolyamine amidohydrolase and a putrescine oxidase. First conjugated polyamines (putrescine, spermidine, and cadaverine) in urine were hydrolyzed by incubation
