Biochem/physiol Actions

Long-acting anti-inflammatory corticosteroid that suppresses lymphocytes-mediated immunologic responses.

Methylprednisolone acetate (Depo-Medrol) is a long-acting anti-inflammatory corticosteroid that suppresses lymphocytes-mediated immunologic responses. 6-Methylprednisolone acetate binds to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors and inhibits promoter domains of pro-inflammatory genes and hinders secretion of inflammatory cytokines. It effectively treats multiple ailments such as rheumatic and autoimmune diseases, leukemia, multiple myeloma, and Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma symptoms along with other drugs. MPA improves COVID-19 pneumonia prognosis.
