General description
The kit provides a step-by-step procedure for conjugating your ligand of choice to a photocatalyst that localizes light-mediated crosslinking to the ligands target. The ligand–iridium conjugate can then be incubated with live cells along with a biotinylated diazirine reagent. Analogous to a satellite, the photocatalyst localizes carbene generation from the diazirine only in the direct vicinity and thus covalently modifies the target protein in a catalytic manner, amplifying the signal for downstream analysis.
To link to an acid on a small molecule (instead of an amine), the Dione Kit is available.

Articles
In cases where photoaffinity labeling (PAL) probes are ineffective, Hyas and Dione Kits provide an effective method for small molecule identification by using an Iridium photocatalyst tethered to the molecule under investigation.
