General description
1-Propanol(n-propyl alcohol) is a short-chain alcohol, used as an extraction solvent inhigh-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) or gas chromatography (GC). Itcan be used as a mobile-phase solvent or as a solvent for sample preparation, dilution, or extraction in chromatographic analyses. It is also a highlyflammable, colorless liquid, used as a solvent for printing inks and as achemical intermediate.
Application
1-Propanol can be used as a mobile phase component in:
- SDS-mediated chromatographic system to analyze the chromatographic behavior of β-blockers in a reversed-phase liquid chromatographic (RPLC) column.
- Separation of taurine during the detection of adulteration in an edible bird′s nest.
