ABSTRACT
A short and efficient total synthesis of isoroquefortine C, the 3,12-(Z)-isomer of roquefortine C, from L-tryptophan methyl ester hydrochloride and 4(5)-(hydroxy)methylimidazole hydrochloride is described.
