General description

Cultured cells in a suspension can be cryopreserved with minimal damage from freezing and thawing steps. CryoSOfree DMSO-free cryopreservation medium preserves them with high viability and physiological activity. This medium is recommended for the preservation of stem cells, hepatocytes, tissue sample and a wide variety of cell types and established cell lines. CryoSOfree DMSO-free cryopreservation medium is a proprietary formulation, containing no DMSO nor animal proteins. It is ready-to-use and complete with no additives required.
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product has Inherently Safer Chemistry, compared to the standard use of DMSO for cryopreservation of cell cultures. For more information see here.

Application

CryoSOfree is a chemically defined DMSO-free cryopreservation medium. It is animal component free and has been shown to preserve the potential of stem cell for differentiation.

Features and Benefits

  • Preserves pluripotency of stem cells
  • Low cytotoxicity
  • Chemically defined, serum free, protein free
  • Ready to use

The following cell lines have been recovered at ≥90% following cryopreservation with CryoSOfree:
L929, KB, MC3T3, B16F1, Colon26, CaCO2, HT1080, MG63

Cryoprotective agents (CPAs) such as dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), glycerol, ethylene glycol, and propylene glycol have been used for the cryopreservation of cells and tissues. DMSO is the most effective CPA but shows high cytotoxicity and can effect differentiation. ɛ-poly-L-lysine (PLL)
