Gene Information

human ... MNAT1(4331)

General description

Anti-MAT1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total MAT1 protein. CDK activating kinase assembly factor MNAT1 or MAT1 enzyme is encoded by the MNAT1 gene in humans and is localized to chromosome 14q23. The protein is part of the cyclin-dependent kinase-activating kinase complex.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human MAT1.

Immunogen Range: 91-140

Biochem/physiol Actions

CDK activating kinase assembly factor MNAT1 or MAT1 is functionally associated with the general transcription/DNA repair factor TFIIH. It is an assembly factor that targets subunits of both cyclin-dependent kinase-activating kinase (CAK) and TFIIH kinase. MAT1 regulates cell cycle and transcription. This protein associates with cyclin H and cyclin-dependent kinase 7 (CDK7) and forms the CDK-activating kinase (CAK) complex. The complex activates several cyclin-associated kinases, regulates cell cycle progression and activates RNA polymerase II-mediated transcription.
