General description

NBD PG is a fluorophore having fluorescent 7-nitro-2-1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl (NBD) label attached to phosphatidylglycerol (PG). PG is the second most abundant surfactant phospholipid.

Biochem/physiol Actions

7-nitro-2-1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl (NBD) labeled fluorescence lipids are used to study the organization of membranes, micelles and reverse micelles. Phosphatidylglycerol (PG) is involved in alveolar stability and plays a vital role in the regulation of innate immune response.
