General description
Low cost, micro-sample prep devices consisting of a coated microfiber held in place in a micropipette tip making it compatible with both multi-channel pipettors and robotic liquid handling systems. The tips are sold in a 96 well tray configuration.
Other Notes
SPME LC tips and fibers are for combined one-step microsampling and sample preparation of biological samples. The PDMS/DVB coated tips are perfect for extraction of moderately polar semivolatile or volatile analytes. These tips are for either direct sampling from biological aqueous based matrices or headspace analysis. Analyte desorption is achieved through exposure to common LC organic solvents. This technology is unique it allows for the direct measurement of free analyte fraction whereas other technologies can only measure total sample analyte concentration. These tips can be used for both solvent desorption into LC and/or direct MS desorption. The presence of (±)α-pinene, (+)β-pinene, (+)3-carene, and R-(+)limonene terpenes in wastewater of a citrus transformation factory was detected and analyzed, in a previous study, by using Solid Phase Micro-extraction (SPME) followed by GC analyses. Purpose of that research was to
Chemosphere, 41(11), 1821-1826 (2000-11-01)
Solid phase micro extraction (SPME) was applied to the determination of selected trihalomethanes (THMs), chloroform, bromodichloromethane, dibromochloromethane, bromoform, in potable and recreational waters. The selected samples were environmentally significant due to mandatory limits imposed by regulatory agencies. Extraction of the
Tuberculosis (Edinburgh, Scotland), 88(4), 317-323 (2008-02-26)
Worldwide, tuberculosis (TB) kills nearly 2 million people annually, yet rapid diagnosis still relies on a 100-year-old method of sputum staining for acid-fast bacilli. The advent of solid phase micro-extraction and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry makes it possible to systematically investigate
Journal of food science, 76(2), C205-C211 (2011-05-04)
A powerful technique was developed for the identification and quantification of 9 volatile compounds of beer, using headspace solid phase micro-extraction (HS/SPME) and gas chromatograph coupled to a mass spectrometer and a flame ionization detector (GC/MS/FID). Optimized parameters included type
