General description

Lithium chloride (LiCl) is a lithium salt. It participates in the Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons reactions of base-sensitive aldehydes and phosphonates. LiCl/N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) solvent system has been employed for the dissolution of cellulose and synthesis of various cellulose derivatives (cellulose esters, carbamates, sulfonates and ethers). It can be synthesized from lithium carbonate (Li2CO3).

Application

Lithium chloride (LiCl) may be used in the synthesis of lithium perchlorate by reacting with perchloric acid.

Features and Benefits

  • Increased efficiency – Eliminate time and effort of loosening hardened powders
  • Safety – Avoid risks of using tools of force to break up clumps
  • Economy – Faster preparation and solvation increase productivity and reduce costs
  • Assured quality – Excellent, expert-tested quality with no anti-caking agents
  • Flexible volumes – Available from research amounts to scale-up quantities

Amyloid precursor protein (APP) undergoes post-translational modification, including O- and N-glycosylation, ubiquitination, and phosphorylation as it traffics through the secretory pathway. We have previously reported that copper promotes a change in the cellular localization of APP. We now report that
