General description

Anti-Histone H3 (Acetyl-Lys18) Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Histone H3 (Acetyl-Lys18) protein.
Histone H3 is located on chromosome 6p22. Mammals contain three main classes of histone H3 variants: the replicative histones (H3.1 and H3.2), the replacement histone (H3.3) and the centromeric histone (Cenp-A).

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Histone H3 around the acetylated site of Lys18.

Immunogen Range: 1-50

Application

Anti-Histone H3 (Acetyl-Lys18) antibody has been used in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Biochem/physiol Actions

Histone proteins are basic building blocks of chromatin. Mutations in Histone H3 results in adult cerebellar high-grade gliomas. It controls protein-protein interactions to induce binding of trans-acting factors that “drive” chromatin condensation.

Features and Benefits

Evaluate our antibodies with complete peace of mind. If the antibody does not perform in your application, we will issue a full credit or replacement antibody. Learn more.

Physical form

Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.

Acetylation of histones changes the efficiency of the transcription processes and thus contributes to the formation of long-term memory (LTM). In our comparative study, we used two inhibitors to characterize the contribution of different histone acetyl transferases (HATs) to appetitive
