General description

The Human FGF-7 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human FGF-7 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.
The gene FGF7 (fibroblast growth factor 7) is mapped to human chromosome 15q21.1. The encoded protein belongs to the fibroblast growth factor family and is secreted by mesenchymal cells.

Immunogen

Recombinant Human FGF7

Application

Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)

Biochem/physiol Actions

FGF7 (fibroblast growth factor 7) is involved in the development of skin and sweat glands, wound healing and cutaneous homeostasis. It controls keratinocyte differentiation and viability by modulating autophagy. FGF7 also participates in embryonic development, tumorigenesis, cell proliferation, migration and differentiation. It is linked with several disorders like nonsyndromic cleft lip and palate, thyroid volume, goiter risk and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. FGF7 plays an important role in the morphology of developing lungs. Absence of the FGF7 activity decreases airway branching during development. During injury, it is involved in airway repair.
