Gene Information

human ... INF2(64423)

General description

INF2 (inverted formin 2) is a mouse formin that has been found to interact with actin through the C-terminus to the formin homology 2 domain. The WASP homology 2 motif activates another region that appropriates actin monomers. INF2 has a unique ability to speed up polymerization and depolymerization of actin filaments. Mutations in the N-terminal diaphanous inhibitory domain of INF2 have been proven to be a main cause of familial focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.

Specificity

Other homologies: Mouse (68% sequence homology).

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human INF2.

Application

Anti-INF2 Antibody is an antibody against INF2 for use in WB, IH(P).
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:500 dilution from a representative lot of this antibody detected INF2 in stomach cancer tissue.

Healthy pregnancy depends on proper placentation-including proliferation, differentiation, and invasion of trophoblast cells-which, if impaired, causes placental ischemia resulting in intrauterine growth restriction and preeclampsia. Mechanisms regulating trophoblast invasion, however, are unknown. We report that reduction of Inverted formin 2

During early ischemic brain injury, glutamate receptor hyperactivation mediates neuronal death via osmotic cell swelling. Here we show that ischemia and excess NMDA receptor activation cause actin to rapidly and extensively reorganize within the somatodendritic compartment. Normally, F-actin is concentrated
