General description

Lithium nitrate (LiNO3) is an inorganic compound used as an electrolyte additive in rechargeable Li-S (lithium-sulfur) batteries. LiNO3 acts as an oxidizing agent.

Application

Lithium nitrate is used:
  • As an electrolyte and redox mediator in the Li-O2 battery.
  • In the preparation of LiNO3/natural phosphate (NP) catalyst. This LiNO3/NP catalyst can be employed in the synthesis of chalcones.
  • As a regenerable SEI (solid–electrolyte interphase) stabilizing agent in the rechargeable Li/O2 batteries.

Questions

  1. 이 제품의 순도가 궁금합니다. 따로 적힌 내용을 찾지 못하겠습니다.

    1 answer
    1. The lithium content of product 227586, Lithium Nitrate, will vary from lot to lot. We recommend that you obtain this value from the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis for this product, which reports the lithium content. The following sample calculation is provided for reference. For lot MKCK5640 of product 227586, The CofA reports the lithium content at 10%.

The atomic weight of lithium is 6.941, and the formula weight for lithium nitrate is 68.95. So the theoretical percentage of lithium is:

      6.941/68.95 X 100 percent = 10.0667%

The assay value of 10% lithium is 99.3% of the theoretical value of lithium. So it can be inferred that the purity of this product is 99.3%, based on the assay for lithium."
