Description générale

Cyclosporine is a lipophilic immunosuppressive peptide with antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties. It selectively inhibits the production of cytokines involved in T-lymphocyte activation in response to antigen stimulation. It is widely used to prevent transplanted organ rejection and for the treatment of various autoimmune diseases.
Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.

Application

These Secondary Standards are qualified as Certified Reference Materials. These are suitable for use in several analytical applications including but not limited to pharma release testing, pharma method development for qualitative and quantitative analyses, food and beverage quality control testing, and other calibration requirements.
Cyclosporine may be used as a reference standard for the determination of cyclosporine in biological samples by high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) method.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

A fungal metabolite possessing potent immunosuppressive properties. It inhibits the T-cell receptor signal transduction pathway via the formation of cyclosporin A−cyclophilin complex that inhibits calcineurin (protein phosphatase 2B). Inhibits nitric oxide synthesis induced by interleukin 1α, lipopolysaccharides and TNFα. Can block cytochrome c release from mitochondria.

Remarque sur l'analyse

These secondary standards offer multi-traceability to the USP, EP (PhEur) and BP primary standards, where they are available.

Autres remarques

This Certified Reference Material (CRM) is produced and certified in accordance with ISO 17034 and ISO/IEC 17025. All information regarding the use of this CRM can be found on the certificate of analysis.
