General description

ortho-Fluorofentanyl, also known as 2-Fluorofentanyl, is an opioid analgesic being an analogue of fentanyl that is sold as designer drug on the illicit drug market since 2016. A certified Snap-N-Spike® solution suitable for use as starting material in calibrators and controls for ortho-Fluorofentanyl LC/MS or GC/MS testing methods in clinical toxicology, urine drug testing or forensic analysis applications.

Application

  • Analytical method development for forensic toxicology: Research demonstrates the application of o-Fluorofentanyl in the development of quantitative LC-MS/MS methods to analyze it alongside other synthetic opioids in postmortem blood. This method is crucial for forensic and pharmacological studies, enabling precise measurement of drug potency and efficacy in fatal overdose cases (Truver et al., 2024).
