Gene Information

human ... DAPK1(1612)

General description

Anti-DAPK1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total DAPK1 protein.
Death associated protein kinase 1 (DAPK1) is a calcium/calmodulin–regulated (CaM-regulated) protein kinase that belongs to the kinases family. The protein structure contains a kinase domain, a CaM binding domain, eight ankyrin repeats, and a death domain. DAPK1 protein is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 9q21.33. Anti-DAPK1 antibody detects endogenous levels of total DAPK1 protein.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human DAPK1.

Immunogen Range: 274-323

Application

Anti-DAPK1 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in:
  • immunohistochemistry(1:400 )
  • coimmunoprecipitation
  • immunoblot

Biochem/physiol Actions

Death associated protein kinase 1 (DAPK1) acts as a death-inducing factor in response to interferon (IFN)-γ, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, and transforming growth factor (TGF)-β. It also induces autophagy, proliferation, and immune response to inflammatory signals. DAPK1 promotes the growth of p53-mutant cancers, including pancreatic and ovarian cancers. Therefore, downregulation of DAPK1 can be a potential therapeutic strategy for treating P53 mutant cancers. Overexpression of DAPK1 protein has been observed in Alzheimer′s disease (AD) patients.

Aims: Death-associated protein kinase-1 (DAPK1) is a pro-apoptotic Ser/Thr kinase that participates in cell apoptosis and tumor suppression. DAPK1 is frequently lost in many different tumor types including breast cancer. The aim of this study was to evaluate the promoter

Interferon regulatory factor (IRF) 7 has been demonstrated to be a master regulator of virus-induced type I interferon production (IFN), and it plays a central role in the innate immune response against viruses. Here, we identified death-associated protein kinase 1

Death-associated protein kinase (DAPK) is a multidomain enzyme that plays a central role in autophagic and apoptotic signaling, although the protein-protein interactions regulating DAPK functions are not well defined. Peptide aptamer libraries were used to identify the tumor suppressor protein

Death-associated protein kinase 1 (DAPK1) is upregulated in the brains of human Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients compared with normal subjects, and aberrant DAPK1 regulation is implicated in the development of AD. However, little is known about whether and how DAPK1 function

Estrogen receptor-negative (ER-negative) breast cancers are extremely aggressive and associated with poor prognosis. In particular, effective treatment strategies are limited for patients diagnosed with triple receptor-negative breast cancer (TNBC), which also carries the worst prognosis of all forms of breast
