General description

Anti-Claudin 3 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Claudin 3 protein.
Claudin-3 (CLDN3) is a tetraspanin transmembrane protein, that is mapped to human chromosome 7q11.23.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Claudin 3.

Immunogen Range: 171-220

Application

Anti-Claudin 3, C-Terminal antibody has been used in immunofluorescence and western blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

In submandibular gland, claudin-3 (CLDN3) controls paracellular permeability with the help of TNF-α(tumor necrosis factor α). High level expression of CLDN3 improves the malignant ability of colorectal cancer cells. It participates in the organization and activities of tight junctions (TJs).
