Gene Information

General description

Syntaxin 1 is a membrane protein. It is also known as HPC-1. Neurons express syntaxin 1A.

Immunogen

highly purified GST fusion protein with the residues 1-265 of rat syntaxin 1A (intracellular, N-terminal).

Application

Anti-Syntaxin 1 antibody has been used in western blotting and immunohistochemistry.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Syntaxin 1 (STX1A) may control exocytosis in synaptic vesicles. In retina, STX1A may help in the structural formation of the INL (inner nuclear layer) and OPL(outer plexiform layer). Deletion of STX1A in mice affects the functions of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. It may participate in spinal nociceptive plasticity promoted by peripheral nerve injury.

Physical form

After reconstitution, the antibody solution is phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% BSA and 0.05% sodium azide.
