Description générale

DSPE-PEG(5000) Folate(1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-[folate(polyethylene glycol)-5000]) is incorporated into liposomes as a targeting ligand for folate receptors, which acts as cellular surface markers for various cancers and myeloid leukemias. Folate targeted drug delivery is potentially used for the treatment and imaging of several cancers and inflammatory diseases. Folate conjugates are small molecules having high binding affinity for folate receptors (FR) on cell surface. Therefore, they have an ability to deliver a variety of molecular complexes to pathologic cells without affecting normal tissues.

Application

DSPE-PEG(5000) Folate may be used:
  • in preparation of folate functionalized nanoparticles (NPs)
  • in synthesis of BTPEPBI-containing nanoparticles
  • in preparation of paclitaxel loaded folate modified lipid-shell and polymer-core nanoparticles (FLPNPs)
